# Data policy and dataset register

## Location data

ReduCycle must not create facility records from assumptions. A displayable location record must include a source URL, source publisher, checked date, active state, facility category, and evidence for every item listed as accepted. Contact hours and details must remain optional rather than being inferred.

The present static build searches OpenStreetMap through Nominatim and Overpass at request time. It labels every result as an OpenStreetMap record and links to that source. Category tags are not evidence that an individual facility accepts a selected item, so users are asked to confirm directly before travelling.

## E-waste data

The public trend visualisation uses the **Global E-waste Monitor 2024** (UNITAR/ITU): global e-waste generation is reported as 34 Mt in 2010 and 62 Mt in 2022, with 82 Mt in 2030 as the report's projection. The graphic does not claim local precision or causal impact. Source: https://ewastemonitor.info/the-global-e-waste-monitor-2024/.

Before any additional dataset is published, each dataset entry must document:

- publisher and direct source link;
- licence and collection/publication date;
- variables, geography, units, and coverage;
- preprocessing and calculations; and
- limitations, including missing countries or uncertain estimates.

Charts must link to the matching register entry. Demonstration values, if added for interface testing, must be labelled as demonstration data.
